My device is still waiting on the scanning... screen and it won’t load the game

Let's see if I can help: To 'scan' you need to move the device side-to-side/up-and-down (like in the images), I find that that pulling the device back and forth (as if to zoom out) can help the camera to better 'see' the play space. AR works best on a flat surface, like a table or floor, in a well lit environment.

Fun game, until...
Really nice and fast game with both Single player and Multiplayer possibilities. Unfortunately the game bugs a lot within a PvP match and you have to restart the whole game. Couldn’t even play a single game till the end on an iPhone 11.
